How can I get started on snowboarding if I live in Oklahoma, US?
I live nowhere near mountains. I've tried looking for areas to go snowboarding and even for lessons in the phonebook but i can't find any (it only listed stores that sells equipment). There's not even an indoor boarding area. I wanna learn to snowboard so bad. Winter is coming and I dunno what to do. Otherwise, I guess I'll stick to skateboarding...

hmm, Oklahoma is a tough spot if you wanna learn how to board. I'd suggest road tripping it (or flying if you have the cash) to Colorodo or Utah if you are looking for a real big mountain, but there are slightly smaller places in new mexico and arizona that are probably more beginner friendly and cheaper. I'd also suggest going for at least 3 days if not 4 or 5 because if you go only 1 or 2 days a year, you will never get the hang of boarding (skiier myself, but i occasionally board and have to reteach myself every time). heres a cool website that i always use to find out where the snow is and whats open: http://www.onthesnow.com/ apparently there is some skiing in Missouri but i highly doubt it's worth the trip or the stay. If i were you id opt for a mid size resort somewhere in New Mexico, because at your distance it wouldn't be worth the time and money to go to a tiny resort hope this helps, and good luck with boarding

If there is absolutely no chance, and no one wants Sharia law in the US why the Oklahoma fight?
Oklahoma Question 755 This referendum would require that courts rely on federal or state laws when handing down decisions concerning cases and would prohibit them from using international law or Sharia law when making rulings It was instantly attacked by CAIR and a lawsuit filed So if Islam does not want Sharia law and people do not believe Sharia law will ever make a toehold in the US, then why the lawsuit?

First Amendment Violation, Fourteenth Amendment violation. Oklahoma does allow for Christian and Jewish Arbitration courts, but has singled out Muslim Arbitration courts for banishment. Oklahoma is certainly free to ban Arbitration courts if it chooses to do so, but that is an all or nothing proposition, that cannot legally single out a Religious, Political or ethnic group.

Was there a US Navy base in Oklahoma during WWII ?
My Uncle spent his Navy career during WWII at a base in the state of Oaklahoma. (Not the US Oaklahoma). What was the Navy doing in Oklahoma?

Curtiss-Wright Field / (Original) Wiley Post Airport, Oklahoma City, OK is the best bet. Here is the link with some pics and some history. Remember there were alot of Mid-west airfields used to train aircrews for service overseas due to the terrain. Now almost all are gone. I am in Kansas now and just read a book about the same thing. Good question! http://www.airfields-freeman.com/OK/Airfields_OK_C.htm
